HSC-9 "Tridents" Fuel Low Pint Glass, MH-60S Helicopter Combat Support Squadron for Navy Retired and Veterans of Naval Aviation

The Tridents were originally established as HS-3 in 1954 and flew various platforms including the UH-25B, SH-34, SH-3, SH-60F, HH-60H and currently the MH-60S. In 2008 HS-3 won the CNAF Aviation Battle Efficiency, Commander, Naval Aviation Safety Center Safety "S", and the CAPT A. J. Isbell Trophy. On 16 April 2009, the TRIDENTS returned home to Jacksonville, FL, from HS-3's final cruise as an HS squadron. In May 2009, the squadron started its permanent duty station change to Norfolk, VA and airframe change to the MH-60S. On 01 June 2009, the TRIDENTS officially became Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron NINE. In typical TRIDENT fashion, the squadron hit the ground running following their transition, lending support to three carrier qualification detachments. Two of these were on their new carrier, the USS GEORGE H. W. BUSH (CVN 77). The A full bag of gas in a Helicopter is a little over 3000lbs. As the gas gauge ticks down you hit BINGO and it is time to head home. The helicopter will alert you with a Fuel Low warning when you are about to run out of gas and you declare Emergency Fuel where the tower clears you in front of everyone else.
